Katie and I had the amazing and humbling opportunity to interview three American heroes of the Annex Security Team that survived a terrorist attack on September 11, 2012 on a U.S. compound in Libya. Kris Paronto (Tonto), Mark Geist (Oz) and John Tiegen (Tig) also wrote a book by the same name which was the basis for the film. 13 Hours, which is directed by Michael Bay, is the true story of their experience along with three other elite ex-military operators assigned to protect the CIA.

The film is now out on digital download, blu-ray, dvd, and Redbox.

All of the guys were very down to earth and easy to talk to. Tanto who now lives in Nebraska, close to where I grew up, is a big football fan. This is something I could relate to and it turns our we are both Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings fans (although I think he said the Dallas Cowboys are his favorite team).

This was an unforgettable experience! I will definitely continue to follow the lives of these three men as I'm sure they will continue to do great things for our country. I hope to have the opportunity to cross paths with them again in the future.
