1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Minnesota or Wisconsin residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the WUCW viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., KLGT, Inc. and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WUCW (the “Station”) and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per Household.
(b) To enter, the nomination form must be filled out online at thecwtc.com or mailed BY THE ADULT MAKING THE RECOMMENDATION to: The CW Twin Cities, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader Promotion, 1640 Como Ave, St Paul MN 55108. The nomination must display Your Name, Complete Address, Phone Number, Student's Name, Relationship to Student, Student's Grade, Student's School and Why your student or class should be picked.
(c) The contest starts on October 20, 2009 and all entries must be received by Station by 12a.m. on September 15, 2010. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail or for printing errors.
(d) 5 Students will be selected to appear on air each week from among valid entries.
(e) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
(f) One or more contests may be announced from time to time. More than one contest may run simultaneously, but entries will only be solicited for one contest at a time.
(g) The contest will be judged by Station personnel, and the decision of the judges will be final as to all matters, including (i) the order in which entries were received and (ii) whether any answer required to be given is correct.
(a) The student nominated must have permission from their legal guardian to participate. The guardian must sign a release form allowing WUCW, The CW Twin Cities to use the child's image on television.
(b) The child will be featured during the 6 o'clock airing of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.
1. Odds of winning depend on the number entries received.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WUCW 1640 Como Ave., St. Paul, MN 55108.
3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. Sinclair Communications, LLC, accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
4. WUCW cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
5. The station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
6. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the appearance.
7. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the appearance.
8. In agreeing to appear on WUCW’s “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader”, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
