We still have a ways to go until the Season 3 premiere (October 10). But filming of the new season has begun and info is starting to be released.

The producers of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW have officially announced the newest member of the team that will be appearing in Season 3. They have always said team members will come and go each season. In Season 1, we saw Hawkman & Hawkgirl leave, as well as Captain Cold. Season 2 saw the addition of Vixen and Citizen Steel.

Since the season 2 finale, fans have been wanting to know what's going to happen to the team in Season 3. It ended with the team landing the Waverider in what looked like a warped timeline.

Two updates have been released regarding the new season, including this brief overview about the overall plot of the season:

"After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question. With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time travelling heroics, Sara wastes no time in getting the Legends back together."
"We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nate Heywood, and Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

The second update is about the newest member of the team...

Tala herself tweeted out the announcement...

So who is this character Zari Adrianna Tomaz? In the comic book world, her alter ego is known as ISIS. Yep, the same name as today's terrorist group. And so far, nobody has officially attached the name of ISIS to this character on the show. So we will have to wait and see if they decide to avoid it or not, and whether a Muslim-American should be named Isis on American TV.

If you aren't familiar with the DC character known as ISIS she currently is Black Adam's love interest in the comics...

But some of you older fans will know this won't be her first time on TV. There was a '70s Saturday morning TV show called The Secrets of Isis, and was part of the Shazam-Isis Hour

Joanna Cameron played her on this show from the '70s, although she was playing Andrea Thomas who was a science teacher that took on the powers of Isis and not Zari Adrianna Tomaz, who reportedly is a hacker from the future (maybe she's a decedent of Andrea. You will kind of get the idea of who Isis is from this minute long intro from the '70s show

Other Season 3 Info we know so far:

  • There will be another hero making an appearance on the show. This hero will be completely new. Never been seen in the comics or anywhere.
  • There will be another 4 part crossover event involving Flash, Arrow, & Supergirl, and it will take place in November
  • Damien Darhk is rumored to appear again.
